I would love to help you bring your next project to life.
As a female adventure photographer, athlete, published writer, and content creator, I offer a unique perspective. My skills allow me to creatively conceptualize and deliver fresh, authentic content across a variety of mediums, both print and digital. I'm not afraid to get uncomfortable or go the extra mile to get "the shot", and my passion for the outdoors spills over into my work.
- graphic and web design services
- written content for all digital and print platforms
- endless energy and enthusiasm
My name is Hilary Matheson. I'm a published graphic designer, writer, photographer, and athlete, based out of Vancouver, BC.
I love being outside. My first love is running, and I've had a number of podium and top ten finishes in the past five years at distances ranging from 50 km to 120 miles. I've also started rock climbing in the past few years, mostly to work on my underdeveloped upper body strength, and I've since ventured into the world of ice climbing and mountaineering. My motto is that I'll try anything (at least) once.
Trail running has brought incredible joy and satisfaction to my life over the past five years, and I have a genuine desire to see more people get off the couch and into the mountains. I started running with a DSLR in order to properly capture the beauty of the places I explore, went back to school to study graphic design communications at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, and that has since allowed me to transition into an entirely new career in graphic design and content creation for a variety of brands.
Brands I've worked with include MEC, Arc'teryx, Lifestraw, Cotopaxi, Under Armour, Smartwool, Julbo, Oiselle, Inov-8, and Saucony. Working with these brands has brought incredible opportunities, including once-in-a-lifetime international trips that have ranged from handing out water filters in rural Kenya with Lifestraw to romping through fells in the Lake District with Inov-8, and running in the scorpion-infested Death Valley with Under Armour.
I have no idea where my camera and legs will take me next, but I'm always ready to go.
