The “200 Milers”

I shot this series of three races in 2019 for Destination Trail Races. These 200 mile gruelling events take anywhere from 3-5 days to complete, and they require as much stamina to shoot as they do to race. The courses are remote, and I often found myself hours away from cell service, battling extreme weather conditions and trying to track down racers while fighting sleep and the clock. The most insane of racers try to complete all three 200 milers in one year — a feat also known as the “Triple Crown”.

The Coastal Challenge, Costa Rica

I’ve travelled to Costa Rica to shoot this challenging 235km stage race for the past three years. Runners get to see parts of Costa Rica where few tourists venture, and they battle humid jungle conditions and treacherous terrain over six days to finish this race, sleeping in tents along the route as they go.

Western States

Known as the “granddaddy” of ultrarunning in North America, Western States is as exciting as it gets to both race and spectate.

Broken Arrow Skyrunning Race

One of the few Skyrunning races in North America, Broken Arrow is known for combining trail running with more of a Euro-style technical course.
